For some time, the Nobel Foundation has opened its archives, which
reveal who was nominated and by whom. Now those lists of nominations and
nominees are available online. In 1920, one year after eclipse
observations had vindicated a prediction of general relativity, Albert
Einstein received eight nominations - four more than anyone else!
